The produce that has started to come in this month is truley amazing. Wild garlic, wild leeks, morels, brill, Scottish Asparagus, purple sprouting broccoli, rhubarb, samphire & nettles….We have been busy & creating & playing around with experimental flavors and textures all in aid of Spring time and enchancing our customers experience with us!!
After last year’s success we now have also made the first batch of “La Stella Pink Lemonade” which is now on sale in the restaurant….You just gotta come down & try a glass….MMMmmmmm
As Summer looms near we have also been spending time working on the Summer Creations menu which will be launched around the beginning of June with new ideas, cooking concepts & flavour combinations included it will be sure to create excitiment for our customers. Our new Dessert menu is now also running with some very intresting flavours of Homemade Ice Creams & Sorbets!!
My Chefs have been busy practising for the Grampiam Chef of The Year competition being held at Aberdeen College on Monday the 24 of May. Stuart Bruce (Sous Chef) will be entering Chef of the Year, Lewis Hewitt (Chef-De-Partie) will be entering Seafood Chef of the Year & Thomas Wallace (Chef-De-Partie) will be entering Young Chef of the Year. The boys have been practising hard and their dishes are all on the menus in the restaurant should you be visiting us!!
We were quiet lucky to have received an inspection from Michelin last month!! The Inspector enjoyed a 3 course lunch and then spent about 1/2hr speaking to me on all things Michelin…VERY exciting times & he informed me that we will be getting another visit sometime soon. This time the inspector will be having dinner.
As you can see the website has been updated slightly with the menu section becoming more user friendley & “The Chef” section will be live later this month. We also have some very exciting news about a new project for Beetroot Restaurants Ltd / The La Stella team that i will be blogging in the next few weeks….Fingers crossed.
